    Ancient Ritual

    Body Gua Sha, meaning “to scrape away,” is a traditional healing practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with origins dating back over 2,000 years. It began as a folk remedy across China and Southeast Asia, used to address stagnation, heat, and impaired circulation within the body.

    In TCM, imbalance and disease are often understood as the result of blocked Qi (vital energy) and blood stasis. Gua Sha was developed to release these blockages — encouraging the free flow of energy and restoring harmony within the body. The technique may bring the surface appearance of sha — small red or purple marks — which are seen as a sign of stagnation being released.

    Traditionally, Gua Sha has been used to support circulation and lymphatic flow, ease tension and fatigue, reduce heat and inflammation, and promote the body’s natural detoxification and immune processes.

    What It Does

    How To Use

    Using the straight edge, glide the tool along the body with gentle, steady pressure — moving in long strokes toward the heart. Work from the feet up the legs toward the hips, from the hands toward the underarms, the neck down toward the shoulders, and the chest down toward the hips. For deeper results, use on warm skin or incorporate into a sauna ritual to support circulation and release.

    This is such a great shape, easy to use. Long the bigger size and handle and the wood. I have started doing gua shua postpartum and have found it help the aches and pains. I was using a face Gua shua before this on my legs and it was so hard this is much better!

    My favorite Gua Sha!

    I use Gua Sha to stimulate my lymphatic system when i'm in the infrared sauna. I was using a random one I got off Amazon but it was flimsy and i'm not sure what it was made of (plastic?). I upgraded to this one recently and it so much better! Feels much easier to use, handle is perfect, and I love the beautiful smooth timber design. Already seeing noticeable differences in my skin and energy with daily use
